Plakias Walk 7
This walk leads you from Lefkogia (5km east of Plakias) via the top of the monolith Timios Stavros (optional), the mountain village of Gianniou and the famous Preveli Monastery (Piso) to Preveli Beach, Lagoon and indigenous Palm Forest.
It is a mountainous walk and includes 450 steps down to the Preveli Palm Beach.
There are enough places for refreshments and food on the way. In the picturesque mountain village of Gianniou you can find one kafeneion (coffeehouse) for something to drink. Right next to the monastery there is a place for drinks, snacks and ice-cream. There is also a taverna on Preveli Palm Beach.
The best way to go on this hike is to take the bus or a taxi to Lefkogeia and the boat back to Plakias.
There are regular boats between Plakias and Preveli Palm Beach in the season.
