This walk leads you from Lefkogeia (5km east of Plakias) to the top of the monolith Timios Stavros where you will find a chapel, a bell and 360 degrees of breath taking views from 433 metres above sea level. In the little chapel you will find a book where you can write down something about your thoughts on this experience. On the way back you walk around the mountain, with stunning views over the Libyan sea and a small church built against the rock. On the way down to Lefkogeia you pass the quiet and picturesque mountain village of Gianniou with spectacular views towards the gorges of Kourtaliotis and Frati from the church on the hill just before walking down to the main road.
There is a lot of going up involved, especially the last bit up to Timios Stavros, which involves a bit of rock climbing but the reward is unforgettable.
