Plakias Walk 11
The climb up to the top of Mount Kouroupa, 1001 meters above sea level, is the hardest walk on this website but the rewarded views are nothing less than spectacular. The radio mast on top is visible from all around Plakias and there is also a little chapel. The walk up starts at Koxare, on the northern side of the mountain. On the way up you pass the ruins of Koredo Castle. Make sure you bring enough water with you!
In case you have a car you can also skip the first part, including Koredo Castle, and park your car next to the village of Atsipades. Take the road right of the bus stop shed, follow the signs to Atsipades at first and after a U-turn to the right you take a left turn to Kefali Village. You can park right there at the end, next to the village of Atsipades and start walking on the road to the left, away from the village.
Besides driving there by car you can take the bus or a taxi to Koxare.
