Sellia is a sleepy, authentic mountain village about 4km north west of Plakias. There are a few excellent tavernas and handicrafts shops. Like all Cretan mountain villages it is a joy to wander around all the small alleys. From the church with the neighbouring cemetery on the hill you will have great views over the village.
You can walk up to the village (280 meters above sea level) through the olive groves which will offer you some spectacular views over Plakias and the bay. It is a steep but rewarding walk! For directions use walk 5.
By car there are 2 ways to drive up, straight from Plakias or from the road towards Souda Beach.
