Plakias beach starts at the pier in the centre of town and extends no less than 1300 meters to the east, all the way to the steep cliff (Paligremnos) at Mount/Cape Kakomouri. There are plenty of places where you can hire a sunbed with umbrella and there are 4 beach bars for a short break from the sun and a drink. A taverna for a lunch or sunset dinner is never far away.
You can hire a jet ski or play beach volleyball and at the east end of the beach nudism is allowed. If you have difficulty walking there is a lift into the sea on the beach.
All along this sandy beach is a boulevard for pedestrians.
Walks 1, 15 and 16 start at the east end of the beach.
Last but not least, leave only your footprints!
