Since a few years there is a ferry (passengers only) from Plakias new harbour to Gavdos, Europe's most southern island. You can go for a day but I recommend a long weekend (Friday morning to Sunday evening) to have enough time to explore this amazing little island with plenty of tracks to walk, gorgeous beaches to camp and of course the big chair, marking Europe's most southern point at Trypiti. Big parts of the island are covered with pine and juniper forests and many of the beaches are deserted or with just a few people. Gavdos is a perfect spot to completely unwind for a few days.
The ferry takes one and a half hour. For prices and up to date schedules click the Anendyk logo.
